About Tim Zeimann
Benefiting from an extensive technical background, I have more than two decades of hands-on IT experience. Beginning with my first part-time job at a radio station as a teenager, my information technology career has spanned the fields of broadcasting, banking, financial services, defense, healthcare, software and digital government.
I’ve become proficient in identifying and resolving difficult and complex business and technical problems. Known for collaborating with others and establishing a healthy exchange of ideas and knowledge, I offer a breadth of valuable leadership skills, including team building and professional development.
“True security” is about so much more than compliance with certain security frameworks. My focus is on helping organizations build and maintain an effective security program, identifying and analyzing risks and implementing meaningful policies, processes and technical controls.

Over the years, I’ve held various vendor certifications from CompTIA, Microsoft, VMware, and Citrix. Currently, I maintain the following industry certifications:
- ISC(2) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®)
- SANS Institute: GIAC Certified Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT)
- ITIL v3 Foundation
During my tenure as CISO for the Texas.gov digital government program, I provided strategic planning and oversight for all aspects of the security program, including security operations, vulnerability management, secure application development, network security, and application of appropriate policies, processes and technical controls.
